In 2006, the Laika Elders recognized it was time to reinforce and support the greater understanding that now was the time for a new human being to emerge. This emergence meant that we had to understand this new way of being human went beyond the idea that we are only physical beings. They understood our human existence expanded to relationships of being energetic or luminous beings, that a new age of knowledge was awakening, or what some may categorize as a new level of enlightenment.
The Rites of the Munay Ki are believed to push us to recognize how we have put ourselves out of balance spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Further the rites give us a pathway to repair our relationship with our planet and restore healing, peace, and beauty in our lives. To embody this knowledge meant you becoming the processes in which these things are manifested and awakening the new human within you.
The rites are included as an invitation for you to awaken compassion, servitude to others, beauty, and the likeness in everyone around you.
The Munay-Ki consists of ten initiations, each a profound transmission of healing energy and ancestral wisdom. These rites empower you to awaken ancient memory and untapped potential while guiding you into greater harmony with yourself and all of life.

Who are the Munay-Ki Rites for?
Anyone who carries the desire within his or her heart to be a healing presence in the world, and to grow and heal on a personal level. There are no prerequisites for the Rites. You don't need to be a "shaman" or have any experience or knowledge related to shamanic practice. You must only carry an open heart and mind and willingness to be a steward during this time of global transformation. Those who receive all ten Rites may become practitioners and teachers and may continue to give the Rites.
